Acute Assessment Unit
About us
Cardiac rehabilitation supports patients to get back to as full a life as possible after a cardiac event, such as a heart attack, heart surgery or stent procedure.
It also includes patients that have been diagnosed with heart failure or have an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) or cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT).
Our Cardiac Rehabilitation Programme includes:
- Exercise classes
- Dietetics
- Wellbeing support
Assessments and rehab classes
We will perform a Cardiac Rehabilitation initial assessment individually. We will discuss the different options of our service that the patient can choose to enrol.
The Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise Programme is delivered at Teddington Memorial Hospital, Whitton Community Centre and Richmond Rehabilitation Unit and they are designed for patients living with coronary heart disease. This is delivered to a group of patients ranging between 6 to 15 patients in each class.
The eight-week programme includes supervised exercise to help patients recover quickly by introducing a healthier lifestyle tailored to patients' needs and by making appropriate lifestyle changes.
