About us

Blyth ward is a dementia friendly environment providing care for elderly people who are unwell and in need of hospital care and treatment.

Patients can use the ward’s day room, and a programme of activities organised and led by our activity coordinators are on offer.

We have a dedicated room for carers on level 5. This room is a private space for carers to rest or take a break away from the patient’s bedside.

Patients are admitted from AAU or directly from the emergency (A&E) department.

On Blyth we aim to build an atmosphere of mutual trust between our staff, our patients and those close to them. Our team of nurses, therapists and doctors use a work in partnership with patients and relatives and use a holistic approach to achieve the best outcomes for patients.

Blyth is a medical ward.
