Acute Assessment Unit
About us
Our multidisciplinary team cares for adults with hearing and balance problems. We work collaboratively with social care partners and other healthcare professionals to provide balance assessments, hearing assessment, (including tests tailored to adults with intellectual or cognitive difficulties), fitting adjustment and maintenance of hearing aid devices and aural rehabilitation to help with the management of hearing difficulties, tinnitus and hyperacusis.
We provide services from a range of hospital and community centre sites, and can provide some services to housebound patients in their own home.
Our base location is in the new state-of-the-art, custom-designed Aspen Building, located at Kingston Hospital.
Mission statement
By taking a personal approach to providing care, delivered by trained and competent staff who are motivated to provide the best possible evidence-based outcomes we aim to provide the highest quality service.
In recognising our commitment to clinical quality in audiology, we have Improving Quality in Physiological Services (IQIPS) accredited status from the United Kingston of Accreditation Service (UKAS) for our full scope of services.
