Biography

Mr Wei graduated from the University of St Andrews in 2007 and subsequently completed his medical degree at the University of Manchester in 2010. He undertook his Orthopaedic higher surgical training within southwest London. During this competitive entry training programme, he rotated through all acute hospital trusts within the region to gain experience in the breadth of Trauma and Orthopaedic surgical care. His passion for surgical training drove him to rise to the position of President of the British Orthopaedic Trainees Association during the latter stages of his training. His experience in this national leadership role continues to help him drive improvements in patient care at Kingston Hospital.

Mr Wei has completed two sub-specialty fellowships in Knee surgery. His international fellowship took him to Australia where he worked at the prestigious North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre alongside Dr David Wood in a high-volume sports knee practice treating elite athletes throughout Australia. He completed his domestic fellowship at Frimley Park Hospital where he worked alongside several knee surgeons at the unit to perfect his skills in all aspects of knee surgery.

Mr Wei has been working as a consultant at Kingston Hospital since March 2023. He is passionate about excellence in healthcare and is currently the Audit Lead for the Trauma & Orthopaedic Department.
