Biography

Mr. Patel has the expertise to manage all aspects of Glaucoma disorders and has a further interest in cataracts and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery.  He is experienced in glaucoma laser procedures including selective laser trabeculoplasty, YAG laser peripheral iridotomy and MicroPulse transscleral cyclodiode.

His subspecialty training allows him to be a proficient and safe cataract surgeon as he regularly manages complex cases. He offers premium lenses for those suitable for it.

Mr Patel has full specialist registration with the General Medical Council and is a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmology.

He qualified from University of London and subsequently undertook run through training in ophthalmology in London, which included training in centres such as Kings College London and the prestigious Moorfields Eye Hospital. He regularly examines for future doctors and currently is involved in recruiting future doctors for a medical school. Mr Patel believes the skillset and proficiency to be a successful doctor starts before qualification and hence takes the time to assist in selecting our future clinicians.

During his training he has been recognised for his dedication to his work with a number of awards the most recent being awarded by Health Education England for his work in reducing risks to patients that are admitted into hospital. He has presented his work to both regional and international audiences.
