Biography

Dr Sujay Chandran is a Consultant Cardiologist practicing at Kingston and St Thomas’ Hospitals NHS Foundation Trusts. He is very comfortable managing all aspects of general cardiology, including coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, cardiac imaging, arrhythmias, heart failure and hypertension. He has specialist expertise in performing angiograms and percutaneous coronary intervention (angioplasty) for patients suffering with angina and chest pains due to coronary artery disease.

Dr Chandran gained his primary medical qualification at St George’s Hospital in 2006, after which he undertook his specialist cardiology training in various renowned London Hospitals. He then studied towards his Medical Doctorate at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, where he researched the molecular mechanisms that contribute to heart attacks. Dr Chandran also continued his specialist interventional cardiology training at the Royal Sussex County and St Thomas’ Hospitals. Upon completion of his UK cardiology training, he was awarded a fully funded international complex interventional Cardiology fellowship at McMaster University, Canada, where he was specifically trained in chronic total occlusion PCI and percutaneous mitral valve therapies. He was subsequently appointed Consultant Cardiologist at Worthing and the Royal Sussex County Hospitals where he was a consultant for five years, before moving to his current post.
