Biography

Dr Donaldson is trained as both a dentist and medical doctor. He completed specialist training in Orthodontics at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital & Kingston Hospital in London. During his training he was awarded with an MSc from King’s College London and Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. Dr Donaldson then completed higher specialist training in managing more complex orthodontics and was awarded the Fellowship in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.

Dr Donaldson has been working as a Consultant in the NHS at a London Hospital since 2021, where he leads, trains, and assesses future orthodontists. His sub-specialist interests are in the virtual surgical planning of jaw surgery and dento-facial orthopaedics.

Dr Donaldson is a member of the British Orthodontic Society, European Orthodontic Society, American Association of Orthodontists and the World Federation of Orthodontists.

Chris’ work has been presented at national and international conferences and published in medical and orthodontic research journals; he is also the author of a chapter in a popular orthodontic textbook. Chris also reviews submissions to the Journal of Orthodontics and is an MSc Research Project Supervisor.

Chris is also the lead of the 3D Unit at Kingston Hospital, which is an in-hospital digital design and manufacturing facility, improving patient care through virtual surgical planning and the 3D printing of medical devices.
