Biography
Dr Masterton-Smith graduated from Brighton and Sussex Medical School in 2009 before moving to London to embark on her Core Medical Training then Specialty Registrar training in Acute and General Internal Medicine in South London.
She was appointed as a Consultant in 2019 after spending a significant amount of her registrar training in Kingston Hospital. This time included working as the Royal College of Physician’s Chief Registrar; an 18-month post dedicated to quality improvement, management and leadership.
During her specialty training in Acute Medicine, she was selected as one of six trainees nationally to represent the Society for Acute Medicine in an initiative called ‘takeAIM’, helping to drive recruitment to Acute Medicine.
She had an active role within the society during her training and has presented work at their national and international conferences on multiple occasions with several publications.
Dr Masterton-Smith has a keen interest in medical education and has completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Education at King’s College London. She has been assigned the role of Junior Doctor Lead for the Acute Assessment Unit.
