- Choose your service or department from the list (this should be on your appointment letter), then follow the link.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to be taken to the waiting room.
- The health professional delivering the appointment will admit you when they are ready.
- If earlier appointments have over-run, you may have to wait a short while until you are seen.
Video calling is as convenient as a phone call, with the added value of face-to-face communication. It can save you time and brings your care closer to home.
Instead of travelling to your appointment, you enter the clinic’s online waiting area. The health service is notified when you arrive, and your clinician will join you when ready.
There is no need to create an account, and no information you enter is stored.
We use a secure web-based platform called Attend Anywhere for video appointments. To use video appointments patients will need;
- a PC, Mac or iOS/Android (smartphone) device, using Google Chrome (for PC/Mac/Android devices) or Safari (For iOS devices and Mac).
- your device should have a webcam, speaker and microphone
- mobile data or access to the internet
- please note, it is preferable to connect to video calls via a secure Wi-Fi network to improve connectivity and limit the use of mobile data.
The decision to offer this type of appointment will be made by a medical professional depending on your individual care needs and this will be discussed with you. Your video consultation will be scheduled as a normal appointment and we will confirm the appointment date and time with you.

On the date and time of your appointment you will be able to enter your clinic via the ‘start video call’ button. As with normal appointments it is a good idea to enter the waiting room a few minutes early. You will be asked to provide your name, date of birth and a phone number so we can confirm your identity and call you back if there are any technical difficulties. Your health professional will then join you in the waiting area.
