About the RSV vaccine

Respiratory syncytial virus or RSV is a common virus which can cause a severe lung infection in babies.

A vaccine against RSV is offered to pregnant women. This helps protect the baby from the day they are born.

You should be offered the vaccine around the time of your 28 week antenatal appointment. If you are more than 28 weeks pregnant, there are still benefits of having the vaccine. Ask about this at your next appointment.
