What a kitchen trolley is for

A kitchen trolley helps you transport food and drinks from room to room.

Do not use a kitchen trolley:

  • as a replacement for a walking aid or frame
  • if you have not been assessed as needing one
  • if your property has narrow doors and steps
  • outdoors
  • if your property is cluttered
  • if you cannot use two hands to operate the trolley
  • if you have severe visual impairment
  • to transport hot things that could melt the trolley such as hot pots and pans
  • to transport cups or glasses that are full of liquid that could spill easily.

How to set up the trolley

  1. Ensure all wheels are in good condition.
  2. Ensure all clips are fitted correctly.
  3. Ensure shelves are firmly attached.
