Eating and drinking well is an important part of your treatment and recovery as an inpatient at the Trust. We want you to benefit as much as possible from the foods that you eat.

Special diets

If you have special dietary requirements for medical or cultural reasons (e.g., gluten free diet, halal or kosher diets), please let the nurse in charge or housekeeper know and alternative meals can be provided.

Help at mealtimes

All of our wards have protected mealtimes (see details below) and we are keen to ensure that if patients do require extra help with eating at mealtimes, there is a member of staff or volunteer available to help. We also actively encourage relatives, carers and friends to come in at mealtimes to help their loved ones with eating and drinking and are always looking for new volunteers to help at mealtimes on a regular basis.
