Consultant Cardiologist

Biography

Dr Simon Pearse is a Consultant Cardiologist at Kingston Private Health. His specialist interest is in heart failure and pacing, including ICD and CRT devices, but he has broad experience of general cardiology and medicine and aims to offer holistic care to his patients.

Dr Pearse studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh, graduating with distinction, and completed foundation training in Glasgow. He subsequently moved to London and undertook core medical training at Charing Cross and Hammersmith Hospitals before cardiology specialist training on the north-west London rotation.

He carried out his MD(Res.) research with Professor Martin Cowie and the heart failure group at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College, and Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust, investigating the use of pacemakers to diagnose sleep apnoea in patients with heart failure. He then completed two fellowships in heart failure and devices at the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals before being appointed as a consultant cardiologist at Kingston and St George’s Hospitals.

Dr Pearse is involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and is a member of the British Cardiovascular Society Education committee.
