Consultant Cardiologist and Heart Failure Specialist
Biography
Dr Tapesh Pakrashi is a Consultant Cardiologist and Heart Failure Specialist and is currently Clinical Lead for Cardiology at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He has an interest in all aspects of adult general cardiology, including heart failure, valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease, cardiac imaging, arrhythmias and hypertension.
Dr Pakrashi read Medicine at Magdalen College, Oxford and trained in Newcastle, Leeds and Cambridge before undertaking his Specialist Registrar Training in Cardiology in London; this included the Pan Thames Heart Failure Rotation at the Royal Brompton Hospital, Harefield Hospital and the Whittington Hospital.
Dr Pakrashi started his consultant career at Kingston Hospital in 2012 and was a visiting consultant cardiologist at St George’s Hospital between 2012 and 2015. He was Clinical Director for Cardiology and Clinical Haematology at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust from 2013 to 2018 and has been Undergraduate Sub-Dean since 2017. He is the current Chair of the Kingston Hospital Medical Staff Committee.
Dr Pakrashi created the Heart Failure Service at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Community Cardiology services in Kingston and in East Elmbridge.
