Biography

Dr Markus Gess is the lead clinician for Gastroentorology and Endoscopy Services at Kingston NHS Trust Hospital. He studied medicine at Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich, Germany, qualifying in 1999.

He undertook his postgraduate clinical training in gastroenterology, hepatology and general medicine in London and also worked in academic hepatitis C research for three years.

Dr Gess consolidated his specialist interest in liver disease working at King’s College Liver Unit. Dr Gess provides expertise in all aspects of gastroenterology and liver disease and he is an accomplished endoscopist.

His clinical practice includes gastroenterology and hepatology clinics and he carries out weekly diagnostic and interventional upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy lists. He also offers comprehensive assessments of liver health, including FibroScan.
