On Friday 25 October, a new Cardiac Investigations Unit officially opened at Kingston Hospital. Guests including former patients and colleagues, partners and contractors, were invited to tour the unit, which offers a wide range of cardiology diagnostic tests for local patients.

The purpose-built unit offers diagnostic tests including electrocardiograms (ECGs), cardiology tapes, blood pressure monitoring and event recorders, a Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic (RACPC), cardiology pre-assessment, pacing and implantable loop recorders (ILR), and exercise tolerance testing, in one dedicated space within Kingston Hospital.

The refurbishment has resulted in an improved environment for patients and for staff, and supports NHS England’s national aim to introduce Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs), improving access to scans and tests, and reducing waiting times for patients.
