Congratulations to Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust’s Lead Nutrition Clinical Nurse Specialist, Sharlene Haywood, who won the Nutrition Nurse of the Year 2025 Award at the British Journal of Nursing Awards recently.
The British Journal of Nursing Awards celebrate excellence in research and practice while recognising outstanding achievements across the nursing community.

I’m incredibly proud that my work has been recognised at such a prestigious level. I am grateful for the supportive colleagues and teams I work with, without them none of this work would be possible.”
Sharlene won her gold award for the work she has led for the past five years to ensure patients have timely and appropriate access to nutritional care, including specialist nursing nutrition support, improving the safety of patient care and investing in the nutritional education and competency of health care practitioners.
