Olympic medalists kick off annual Night to Remember charity walk
A new ultrasound scanner, funded by Kingston Hospital Charity, is helping to provide a ‘one stop’ service for patients visiting Kingston Hospital with suspected gynaecological cancer.
This will reduce the number of women needing to visit the hospital for multiple appointments.
With the new scanner in use, the gynaecology service at Kingston Hospital can now offer same-day ultrasound imaging and appointments with clinicians, helping to improve access to services for patients and enhance patient experience, and helping the Trust to meet cancer treatment targets.
Miss Suzi Hutt, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, and Gynae-oncology Lead at Kingston Hospital, said: “We are delighted to have this new ultrasound machine. It has allowed us to significantly increase our capacity for ‘one-stop’ appointments for women referred with possible gynaecological cancer. This will improve their journey through investigations and help us to diagnose cancers faster. Our sincere thanks to all who contributed to enable us to purchase this equipment.”
