Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust are calling on staff and the public to donate food for Christmas food parcels, for local Disabled people in need.

This is in support of a Christmas food parcel campaign run by Ruils Independent Living, a Teddington based disability charity.

The holidays can be a really challenging time for many in our community. Ruils acts as a lifeline for those who may go without support, both during the holidays and throughout the year. All food and monetary donations made toward the Christmas parcel campaign will go directly to local people.

In addition to the non-perishable food donations, Ruils would especially appreciate treats and hygiene items:

  • Sweets
  • Chocolates
  • Biscuits
  • Crisps
  • Soap/body wash

If you would rather donate to cover the cost of the fresh fruit and vegetables that will be added to the parcels, you can do this online, on the Charities Aid Foundation website.

Ruils CEO, Cathy Maker, said: “We’ve seen the demand for our Christmas parcels increase year on year, first, with the impact of COVID and now the cost-of-living crisis. Thank you so much to our community and NHS partners and to local people for helping us support over 90 Disabled people and their families. We really couldn’t do this without you and your donations will make the holiday season a lot brighter for many in our community.”

All donations can be dropped off at the Ruils office during working hours, until Wednesday 18 December: 4 Waldegrave Road, Teddington, TW11 8HT.
